Promoting Affiliate Products – Why It’s Such A Great Way To Make Money Online

Promoting affiliate products is a great way to start making money online. If you’re a newbie, then using affiliate marketing as a strategy to earn money online can be very lucrative. If you’ve never even heard of affiliate marketing, then don’t worry. I’m going to explain it all here. If you’re more experienced, then you still may learn a thing or two, so read on!

Affiliate marketing is basically the act of promoting another person’s product or service. And in return for promoting their product, the seller gives you (the affiliate) a cut of the profits. The beauty of this strategy is that you don’t actually have to create the product or service yourself.

I personally like to promote products that I believe in, or think can be very useful to others. I avoid scammy products or those that I would never recommend to a good friend or to anyone for that matter. I like to give value, and in return, I feel confident that I am only passing on good products and services to others.
Where To Find Affiliate Products

There is no shortage of products you can promote in exchange for a cut of the sale. The first one I am going to mention is Amazon. With literally millions of products to choose from, it’s super easy to find something that you think is worthy of promoting to others. Look for any products in a niche that you find interesting, or know a lot about. This is a great place to start if you’ve never tried affiliate marketing.

Another good place to go for products is Clickbank. Clickbank has a ton of digital products from a wide variety of areas. Look through by category just to get feel for what they offer.

Commission Junction is another great place to search for affiliate products. A lot of major retailers have affiliate programs that can get you started on your journey to affiliate marketing.

These are just a few of the places to find affiliate products. There are a lot more, but these should get you started!

How to Promote Affiliate Products

If you want to promote products for Amazon, you’ll need to sign up for their free Amazon Associates program. It’s free to join, and this is true for all of the affiliate programs I’ve mentioned. Once you are a part of the program and you’re ready to promote a product, you will be given a special link with your unique tracking code. When someone clicks on your link and purchases, you’ll make a commission. Commission Junction and Clickbank work in a similar fashion. Just sign up for an affiliate account and get your unique link for that product or retailer. You can use these links on your website or blog to start earning commissions on sales that are made through your unique links.

How Much Money Can You Make With Affiliate Marketing

With affiliate marketing, there really is no limit to the sales you can make. The amount you’ll make per sale varies by affiliate program and vendor. Amazon has a clearly spelled out commission tier which you can use to decide which products are right for you. For Clickbank and Commission Junction, each vendor chooses how much of a cut of the sale they will give their affiliates.

A Few Other Points To Consider

Choose what you want to promote based on a variety of factors. The very first aspect though, in my opinion, is to believe in what you are promoting. It’s a whole lot easier to sell or recommend a product that you already love or can see value in. Look at various other factors including price point, affiliate payout, and confidence in the vendor. Some affiliate programs offer incentives or bonuses. If that interests you, then factor that in as well.

Once you establish yourself as someone who only recommends good products, you’ll see that your list or customer base will come back to you. It’s good for you and your customers!
